Architecture & Workflow

How MediaFetch Works

Designed from the ground up for security, speed, and digital copyright compliance.

1

URL Validation & SSRF Check

When you submit a media link, our server resolves the domain's DNS and inspects the IP. Any attempt to query private networks, localhost, or cloud metadata endpoints is immediately blocked. Only valid HTTP/HTTPS public streams proceed.

2

Provider Capability Matching

The URL is dispatched to the appropriate provider module. If it is a direct media stream (.mp4, .mp3), we inspect headers for size and MIME validity. If it is a platform like YouTube or Vimeo, we query the official public oEmbed API to fetch titles, thumbnails, and channel data.

3

High-Performance Media Conversion

For user-uploaded files, MediaFetch checks server capabilities. On FFmpeg-equipped servers, it applies hardware-accelerated transcoding, CRF compression, resolution scaling, and thumbnail extraction. On standard shared hosting, it gracefully uses native PHP inspection.

4

Cryptographically Tokenized Downloads

We never expose your real server storage paths. Processed files are linked to a single-use or 60-minute cryptographic token. Files are served in streaming chunks with optimal HTTP headers.

5

Automatic 60-Minute Retention Purge

To guarantee your privacy, all temporary uploads and converted files are permanently shredded by our automated maintenance engine 60 minutes after creation. We do not store your media indefinitely.
